Riverwalk School in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, is a special school catering for around 120 pupils, aged form three to nineteen, with severe, profound and complex learning needs. Staff at the school work hard to enable pupils to communicate clearly and effectively by developing personal and social skills and, at the same time, encouraging them to have fun and develop their imagination. To do this the school provides a series of stimulating environments, including an existing dark room and their new sensory room, designed and installed by SensoryPlus, in which pupils can participate in small groups as well as individually, accessing a wide range of opportunities and sensory experiences in order to aid their development.

All our products are selected to be simple to use and easy to maintain, but training is often crucial, particularly for clients new to sensory products and for those looking to maximise the benefits of their equipment.
SensoryPlus offer a two-tier training solution, developed in response to customer feedback.
The first level, delivered by our field advisors lasts for less than half a day, dependent on the size and complexity of your order and will cover the fundamentals of using the equipment.
At a more comprehensive level, SensoryPlus deliver added value by using independent trainers to fulfil full day courses. Independent trainers help SensoryPlus provide a richer more fulfilling experience ensuring clients receive high-quality, customer focused training.
All independent trainers are experienced in the field of sensory products and have many years “hands-on” experience both in the UK and abroad. This depth of experience ensures trainees receive more evidence based, practical advice on how to use the products they have purchased.
Whilst working with sensory products “hands-on” under the tutelage of an experienced trainer is the most productive way to learn, sometimes reading material can help develop understanding and promote good practice.
